A Kawasaki Er6n is a first-generation motorcyce that was released in February, 1970. The Kawasaki Er6n was released in two generations; the first generation with a 582cc engine and the second generation with a 462cc engine. The first generation Kawasaki Er6n was developed in Japan and the second generation Kawasaki Er6n was developed in Germany. The Kawasaki Er6n has the prefix “ER”, which stands for Engineered Rotary.
The Kawasaki Er6n was released as a response to the increasing competition in the motorcycle market of the early 1970s. This was the first “target” motorcycle that Kawasaki released since they entered the motorcycle market.
As the name suggests, this is a hybrid motorcycle. The Kawasaki Er6n is the first motorcycle with an engine and transmission that have been together on the same frame. Although it is a parallel hybrid, its engine and transmission are directly connected. The two engines and two transmissions work together to form a powertrain with only one drive shaft.
This powertrain has an open/straight-six engine. The engine is a 2-stroke straight-six engine with a piston displacement of only 572cc (crankcase capacity of 536.9cc).

Cold acclimation (CA) of fish is important for survival in a sub-Arctic environment. However, how aquatic species acclimate to an Arctic environment and how these responses are translated to changes in liver metabolic and functional gene expression remains largely uncharacterized. Therefore, we exposed arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus) to cold (5°C) or control (21°C) temperatures for 2 weeks, and measured metabolic and hepatic gene expression profiles. Cold acclimation increased maximum oxygen consumption rate (MO2 max), brain, liver and muscle glycogen and glutathione. Cold acclimation decreased citrate synthase and dehydrogenase activities in liver and heart, and increased CO2 excretion (VCO2). Expression of genes related to oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid metabolism and glucose metabolism increased in livers of cold acclimated fish. Cold acclimation increased expression of genes in the mTOR, IKK and MAPK pathways. Cold acclimation also altered expression of genes in the hepatic ECM and proteolysis pathways, but not
